Guest guest
I'm 16 months postop and still have 30lbs to lose. I'm trying really hard to refocus and live by Sugar Busters (recommended by my surgeon). Anyone else out there that has rejoined the " diet " plans available out there? Have you been successful? I'm very curious to learn what long term postop patients who have made it to goal eat like. I'm struggling not to eat the sugar-free junk food that seems to be everywhere I go nowadays. I really want this lifestyle change forever but when you've given up pretty much all carbs except fruits and vegtables it's hard to believe that you can make it to goal. I've been plateued between 194-198 (5'10 " , 28yrs,started at 320)for the last 4-5 months. Any advice would be welcomed. Guest guest
" I hope next time you speak with this person that you apprise her of her ignorance. And, that this surgery isn't ever an easy choice or lifestyle option. " This would be nice if it works. Unfortunately, people like this are content in their ignorance. I have had a few people who have be vocal about their disdain for my choices. They are no longer in my life. The bottom line is...I did what I did for ME! Not for anyone else. I am healthy, happy, and content with my life. Everyone who isn't happy for me can go to...well...someplace. Guest guest
Cindy, don't despair. I had plateaud for about a year at 185 pounds between years 1 1/2 and 2 1/2. I really thought that's where my body wanted to be. Then, when I gave up oatmeal for breakfast and had a protein shake instead, I dropped another 20 pounds in a few months! Then, since my TT Last November, I've lost another 10-15 pounds (I fluctuate between 150-155). BTW, I will be 4 years out in August. You might want to try the all protein jump-start for a few days. It seemed to work for quite a few of us. in NJ ************************** > I'm 16 months postop and still have 30lbs to lose.
