Guest guest
It's the NOW brand of liquid chlorophyll. It is sodium copper chlorophyll - a stabilized, water-soluble form of natural chlorophyll extracted from alfalfa leaves. Contains vegetable glycerin, de-ionized water, peppermint oil and potassium sorbate. Contains no sugar, salt, starch, yeast, wheat, gluten, corn, soy, milk, egg or artificial flavors/colors. I checked BTVC website and it's not listed. I'd like to add it to yogurt smoothies. What product are you wanting to use? CHLOROPHYLL, the green pigment in most leafy greens and other green plants, is legal. But a "chlorophyll supplement" probably is not. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Looking for the perfect gift? Darlene, That sounds like it would be legal, but do you have a link so I can take a look? — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

Guest guest
Alfalfa is a grass/grain, and a polysaccharide. Which means that a supplement made from this is very likely something you should avoid while on SCD. Unless we test the particular supplement you’re using, to determine whether the chlorophyll structures are still polysaccharide, it is best to avoid it or risk long-term damage or a healing delay. Then there’s the additives or non-active ingredients that may be included in the supplement, which may or may not be legal. I’d get chlorophyll from all of the whole food sources permitted on SCD. There are plenty of them available to us. If you feel you are dealing with nutrient absorption issues, you can try taking a digestive enzyme until you’ve reached healing. So yes, I’d suggest you stop using chlorophyll supplements. Too risky. Kim M. SCD 6 years >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. I was reading something on a thread about chlorophyll supplementation. Sorry, I can't figure out what thread that was! then I happened to be checking the legal/illegal list on http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/legal/legal_illegal_d-n.htm and noticed that " liquid Clorychlorophyll " is illegal. I've never heard of Clorychlorophyll, but google wants to parse that as chlorophyll, and so would I. I'm taking an alfalfa based liquid chlorophyll supplement now. Should I desist? Thanks!
