Guest guest
Hi Bob, Sounds like you are doing really well! Thanks for checking in. Washing your car already, huh??? May I ask what meds you are on and at what dose!?!?! I think that the dosage I'm on for the meds is totally NOT cutting it... when my mom calls for a refill Monday, I'm going to have her ask about it. In contrast, when I came home from the hospital, I was pretty chipper that day-I was folding laundry and putting everything away, got a shower, etc.... And then it became apparent that the meds routine was all wrong and I think I over did it. Friday and today have been better days. I am slowly feeling more and more human and sort of like myself.... I have had issues getting much sleep... you heard about my first night... well since then I'm awakened by my face or general discomfort for another round of meds every few hours. Glad I answered your mystery about the sore abs!! You are lucky you don't remember it. My first memory waking up is of writhing in recovery on the bed... not being able to breathe right with all the junk in my throat. How is everything going for you with feeding and all? I read that you are banded. Which surgery did you have done again? Lower and upper? or lower only? Sorry! I can't remember! I am not banded right now... I think I would have suffocated if I had been because my nose was packed initially. I had a hard enough time breathing trying to hold my mouth open as widely as I could manage. I have an appointment this thursday to meet with the surgeon to have the stitches from my cheeks removed and probably get banded then. I have a splint in there now already..... My lips and cheeks are going to have to unswell a LOT by then if he expects to get in there and do anything. I was kind of wondering too about the bruising. I have barely bruised... just the migrating stuff on my neck down to my chest, and even that has been very faint. I am wondering if the bruising on my face would have shown by now or if it is still waiting to surface. My swelling is all assymetrical and bizarre so it's hard to tell what I will look like.... I think because they did different things to different sides because I went in with assymetry that they were trying to align. I have a chin bandage that comes off tomorrow that I am freaked out to take off... I am wondering what I will look like, but I'm scared to find out too!! BUT, mostly I want to get in there and wash up, so inspite of my fears, that sucker is coming off!!! Ok, keep in touch and let me know how you're doing so we can compare notes! Guest guest
Hi Katja you kinda disappeared for a few days there ,I was wondering how you were making out.....I think i probably overdid it a bit today as I am very sore this evening,...Tommorrow I am going to try to go a day without trying to talk , I think that does me in more than anything... I just did my shooter...10ml liquid morphine mixed with 20 mls liquid tylonal... I was taking that about 3-4 times per day ,but this is my first shot of the day ,and I am hoping it helps me sleep as well...I was supposed to be splinted as well but he thought it would be easier on me if he left it out.?...I have lost 4 lbs in 4 days ....It's weird cause I just am not hungry....I have to just routinely squirt them milkshake meal replacements into my cheeks.....The swelling is brutal isn't it....did they have to cut through your cheeks to get the screw driver in there?....He told me I would have a couple stitch's in my cheeks but obviously he didn't have to....I was a little nervous when I removed the chin bandage but it looked more swollen with it, than it did without it .... Well my little fruit cocktail is kickin in, so better go before I drift off at the keyboard... Take care Bob > > Hi Bob, > Sounds like you are doing really well!
