> I have tried Topamax for migraines just recently (well about 4 months

ago). I didn't get much benefit from it for my headaches and, unlike its

reputation, it did nothing for appetite control either.

** I don't have migraines, never did, don't know much about them but tuesday

night at our orientation seminar a few people were talking about a

sublingual migraine med - I thought they said the name was Maltox

[malt..something]. they all seemed to think it was the best thing on earth.

you know how it is, docs push all the new meds cause the pharmaceutical reps

push all the new meds - they cost more before they go generic and its PR and

marketing hype that the docs remember. not to mention that they are in our

office feeding us lunch, pushing pens and propaganda on us about these new

meds at least 3x a week.

having left the non-profit world I sit amazed some days as to how and why

doctors who don't need 'freebies' have them thrown at them while poor abused

women sit in a shelter with nothing and barely a sole to throw anything

'free' at them. we got more can's of cheap beans but never a bottle of soda

or a cake mix or some ice cream, let along free full course lunches.
