So 4 days and 2 surgeries later...

Hello everyone, just wanted to let you all know I'm ok. Monday I

went in for my surgery and as my mom let you know, they only had to

do the lower jaw, along with removing the wisdom teeth. So

exciting! Everything was going fine and my mom even posted some

pics from Monday after the surgery and Tuesday afternoon. Well, had

some x-rays done later and found out Tuesday around supper time that

the screw they had put in my chin (they brought my chin forward with

my jaw, it's called genio or something akin to that) anyway, it had

come loose. So yesterday (Wednesday) I was squeezed in after the

last surgery of the day to have that fixed. Only took about 20

minutes in the operating room, they just took out the screw and put

in two wires instead. My mom always said I had a screw loose.

Guess she was right. This morning I went down for more x-rays and

everything is fine! So I'm back at my parents now and am very

tired. Not a whole lot of pain, but I think all the drugs and

everything I'm on, along with what has happened the last few days

have just worn me out. I'm posting some new pics too. I noticed as

soon as they did the second surgery fixing the chin my swelling went

down quite a bit. This is all jumbled together and I'm sure it's

just confusing everyone. Will talk to you later and thanks for your

Hi Mel,

Congrats on making it through!

I have six stainless steel wires in my chin - my surgeon uses screws

& plates everywhere else but apparently not in the chin! Anyway, 2.5

years later they are still in place, can't tell they're there (except

on xray), and they are not giving me any trouble at all.

Being tired is just where you should be at right now - you've been

through a lot. Your body needs you to relax and take care of it, make

sure you're taking in lots of fluids and good nutrition.

How are you doing today?? I'm sorry about all that you've been

through. No wonder you are exhausted! 2 surgeries can't be any fun...

I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'm really glad that your chin

feels a lot better though now that you have that screw replaced with

wire. Whatever works, right?? Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you're

fine now... and only having the lower instead of upper too is still

great! Get some rest and nourishment and keep in touch to let us

know how you're doing. I hope you feel a lot better really soon!!

Ok, so is it just me or just Yahoo! change it's look? I'm tired and

just hit my lip on my step-father's computer desk so now I'm cranky,

but besides that, everything is fine. Been taking my drugs and have

been taking less than required, and instead of every 4 hours, usually

take every 6. I figure if I don't need it, all the better, am wanting

some more pain meds right now, lol. One big thing is that I can talk,

sort of, but people have a hard time understanding what I'm saying and

I've written so much my writing is starting to suffer and my mom

thought I wrote " 16 " when I wrote " ice " , hahha.. I'm so tired, have to

go to bed, night night now.

That's funny you should ask I just did too:) I thought maybe my

computer was tampered with...I like the old message board better. I

can't deal with change right now!

ok this has got me in a tizzy. Messages that used to be on the

bottom are on the top, the words are smaller....and I'm still hungry

oh well I'll adjust as I have for 31 days now with much larger

changes.
