Guest guest
Heyla, folks.... Given that we often have discussions about The Dread Ch-c-l-t- And C-c--, I thought it interesting that I stumbled across this: http://tinyurl.com/yjrshdq a book on that dire subject published in the 1920s, when Dr. Haas must have been delineating and researching what would become the allowed foods on what is now our Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Guest guest
My brain tilts at the complexities.Yeah, it's pretty intense. It looks like about 6% of the cacao bean is starch though, so it looks like Elaine was justified in making them illegal. Here's what I find interesting though:"Cacao beans, in common with other seeds, contain all the substances necessary to nourish the growing plant during germination..." (p. 119)This makes me think that the composition of cacao beans would be very similar to the composition of other seeds. And that maybe other seeds would have some starch in them too, if many plants need it to grow. But I couldn't find the composition of any other seeds online, unfortunately, to check.
