Guest guest
Amy, I am 7 days post op lap RNY..I will tell you what I can have..that may help. Clear broths, chicken, beef, vegetable etc. Yogurt sugar free or fat free without fruit chunks, skim milk up to 8 oz a day, sf puddings made with that skim milk, jello..clear of course, grape or apple juice..diluted with water..4 parts water, 1 part juice. You will be drinking tons of water..and protein drinks..you will need at least 65 grams of protein a day. Lo Carb, low fat...is the best. I like Atkins chocolate..but its only 22 protein a day. One tip I do have, get a belt, or jacket belt, and take it with you to the hospital. It hurts like blue blazes to get out of bed on your new tummy surgery...if you just loop the belt when you want up out of bed, and stick a foot in the loop, you can easily pull yourself up to a sitting position by extending your foot...so much easier on the sore muscles. Good Luck!
