Guest guest
Someone mentioned recently not feeling embarrased wearing a swimsuit. Although I am not quite there, I did finally buy a new swimsuit in the basic black uniform color. Since swimming is the easiest thing on my joints, I have finally decided to go smimming again. I still feel like everyone is laughing at me. I have come to the conclusion, though, that I am not doing this for anyone else but me and they can laugh if they want too. It is time I start taking off some more of this weight. My only concern know is that my old home health aide is back and she is a firm believer in having sugar in the house as well as tons of crackers, cereal, and beef. I can't handle the beef on a consistent basis and the other stuff made me gain weight this last year. I have started learning the word no but she is SOOOOO bullheaded. Of course, it is my money we are spending and my body and my health. We'll see how this goes in 1.5 weeks. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas SRVG 7/16/01 Dr. Ritter/Dr. Bryce 479/335/??? Guest guest
Yep, my grandmother was the same way. " Just one piece of cake won't hurt ya. " Well, some 40 lbs ago that is what my home health aid was saying and it wasn't 40 lbs in the right direction either. ) Lori O. Guest guest
Lori, why don't you see if you can turn her on to protein shakes. I can make them taste like milk shakes with sf pudding powder, Davinci sf syrups, maybe a little cool whip and ice, of course, in the blender. If she doesn't have to lose weight, you can make them with milk and/or fruit for her. Maybe you can fill her up so she won't want those crackers or cereal any more. in NJ ********************* > > My only concern know is that my old home health aide is back and she is a firm believer in having sugar in the house as well as tons of crackers, cereal, and beef. Guest guest
Did you ever see " Fatso " with Dom Dee? Same situation -- the ones who ate the most made the mommas so happy. That was one of those movies that made me laugh and cry, too much truth. And of course his cookbook had a name on the order of " Eat this, it will make you feel better. " ~~ Lyn (who also had a grandma who would feed me with one breath while tsk-tsking over my weight with the next) MY grandmother used to compare my cousin and me. She would look at me and say " God bless , look at how she eats! Whats a matta with you ? " Can you guess that Grandma was Italian?
