Guest guest
That was my understanding of what the band did. But apparently insurance companies think differently. Thank you for pointing it out to me. I will be sure to add it into my next appeal. Lorie UHC Denial- Need Some HelpPlagiocephaly Date: Monday, July 28, 2008, 12:46 PM Hi Ladies, I recently appealed UHC in hopes that they would reimburse me for the cost of my son's DOC band. We got denied, and I am in the process of sending in our 2nd appeal. Has anyone out there had a successful appeal with United Health Care? If so, what was the original denial for and what does your specific policy state in regards to Cranial Banding? (We were denied due to the fact that our policy excludes orthotic devices that change the shape of a body part). The reason I ask, is I'm sure that UHC has made some policy exclusions for people in the past. I want to gather enough information so I can make them accountable (especially when a cranial banding is a medical necessity, but a cosmetic need.) Sorry if this sounds confusing. I have a meeting with my attorney this week, and would like to have enough information to take the next step. Thank you all for your help Lorie Mom to Spencer and Alizabeth 15 months Spencer- Left Plagio- DOC Band GRAD 9/07-12/07 Glendale, AZ
