Guest guest
Yes Jane, you can indeed do it and will. Hard to get out of it now, huh? But seriously, you will. Cammie is right ... I did have a tough time. Physically from the meds ... the Cleocin gave me terrible diaharrea which is what you don't want when you are having a hard time consuming anything. And I had an allergic reaction to Compazine ... the anti-nausea med they sent me home with. Got pretty dehydrated. That reaction took me right back into the hospital. But the good news is that the worst part of this surgery really is short-lived. When you are going through it, yes ... the days seem like years, but for both surgeries, my worst days were the first 13. Many ... I'd venture to say most ... folks who were on the site when I was going through it only had really tough days for about 4 days, then saw things get better. So even if you are having a tougher time than others, it will get better soon. Cammie asks me if it was worth it. Yes! I've written that I still have numbness and I cannot lie and say that isn't disappointing. However, my bite was such where I would never smile for photos, I would shy away from cameras/videos, I felt controlled by it. To be able to do those things now is so freeing. When I was in the early stages of recovery I couldn't have said it was worth it. That decision will come for you in time. You're way early in this process. Hang in there!
