Guest guest
, I am 5ft 1 and should weigh between 130 to 133 lbs according to the charts. I am also on the big boned side. 120 lbs on me makes me look sick. But I have also heard that it takes some time after we loose the weight to look less gaunt so it maybe just a matter of time. I'm not sure why that is. It just maybe that we loose so quickly that it takes time for the body to redistribute itself. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas SRVG 7/16/01 Dr. Ritter/Dr. Bryce 479/335/??? I have a theory that those who are close to us and knew us for years as a MO person will see us as too thin before anyone else will because they were so used to us being really heavy. I am still about 25 lbs away from where I want to be, and I have friends and family telling me all the time, " Now, don't lose too much! " and, " Why do you want to lose anymore? You're thin enough! " The other part of my theory is that we are, in general, a much larger-sized society, with 60% of adults overweight - so when you are at a healthy weight, you can appear underweight to many people because they're used to seeing so many overweight people. Guest guest
Sally, I think you are so right. I am hovering around 194-197lbs. I need to lose a good 60 pounds. Yet everyone says I have lost enough & I am getting too thin. TOO THIN at 194 lbs. Yeah, right. Compared to my before pics, yeah, my face is thin & I am sure everyone who knew me MO thinks my face is sinking in. LOL Lorraine I am in the same boat Lorraine... I am hovering about 185-190 and I am being constantly told not to lose anymore weight.. I am thin enough and " when you can have your plastic surgery done, you wont have the need to lose that addtional 40-50 pounds " . once told me to say that thank you for your concerns, but my doctor and I are working on this issue together. Sometimes this works , and people stop trying to tell me what they think .. other times, it doesnt. I usually say thank you for your concerns and leave it at that and continue to do what I am doing.. water, protein, vites and exercise.. and praying that I will keep seeing the scale move downward.. plastic surgery or not.. Hang in there my friend, and I pray that you will be able to shed that stubborn few pounds. You are a success no matter what.. look how far we have both come.. Take care Peachy hugs,
Guest guest
Your theory makes a lot of sense. I have heard that there are some designers who have made changes to their sizing to make women feel better about themselves. For example a size 8 might have been a size 10 many years ago. As a society, you are correct, we are getting used to super sized everything! from Washington Lap RNY Sept 2001 Minus 205 pounds 333.5/128.5 http://www.wworw.com > --On Sunday, July 13, 2003 9:23 PM +0000 Graduate- OSSG > I have a theory that those who are close to us and knew us for years as a > MO person will see us as too thin before anyone else will because they were > so used to us being really heavy. Wouldn't be nice if there was some consistency to women's sizing? At least guys know exactly what to expect if they get 30 " waist pants or a shirt with a 16-1/2 " neck. And I've noticed that the " better " clothes seem to be larger, and the " cheaper " clothes tend to run smaller (though not always). Let's not even go into S,M,L,XL....
