SCD, I did not like, nor did I tolerate carrots, which are supposed to be an

easy-to-digest vegetable. Carrots tasted nasty to me.

beans, spinach, and zucchini. Interestingly, carrots tasted good to me at this

point, and did not cause a reaction. So I added carrots to my repertoire.

Ireland. Knowing she loved dark chocolate, someone had gifted her with a bag of

Ghiradelli Special Dark Miniatures. But she had no room in her suitcase for

them, so she gave them to us. They sat on a shelf in the dining room for a very

long time, calling my name plaintively.

piece, knowing full well that the result was probably going to be diarrhea for

several days -- but dang, I wanted that chocolate!

reverently, and SMELLED it again. Ooooooh..... so I bit into it. And it tasted

dreadful. I handed the partly eaten piece to my husband, saying that there was

no point in eating an illegal if it didn't even taste good. My taste buds and my

system were now accustomed to an entirely different type of eating. Then I

wailed, " It's not FAIR! Exchanging CARROTS for CHOCOLATE?! "

I know I'm missing the point entirely <g>, but I never thought Ghiardelli

chocolate was

particularly good. In fact, I thought it was a pretty mediocre, bad chocolate,

a

bit better than Hershey's but not by much.

Lindt chocolate, you might have had a problem. (truffles - yum).

Although even then I bet it would have tasted way too sweet.

again... but my gut still reacts to it. Which makes it that much harder to not

have. Not if I'm to achieve full healing. (Cocoa butter is useful...)

Cocoa butter is extremely useful.

!!!!!!!!!! Wow, that stinks.

Those things are the bomb! I actually don't mind the fact that I'll

probably never eat one again, but I'm glad I got to eat one before SCD.

One thing I wish I had gotten to eat before SCD is a Panera Bread 'bread

bowl,' just for the novelty of getting to eat the soup AND the bowl

=)

Well, funny thing: you don't really miss what you never had.

I never had a Panera bread bowl, but back in <mumble> when we flew

to Denver for a convention, we got in very late, and the only thing

available was chili in a bread bowl. A sour dough bread bowl. It was

delicious.

One of these days, I think I need to see about making some almond flour

bread bowls.

Maybe it's just me but I've

never missed something and had satisfaction after 'finally' eating it

be in moderation.

My standard line is that no food is so delicious that it is worth being

sick over.

We're going to a beer-tasting this weekend. Guess who's volunteered to be

the designated driver?
