Guest guest
My OS has required payment prior to surgery. At first, I thought this was very strange. As it turns out, he has done 3 of my friend's wisdom teeth removals, and he required prepayment from them also. He explained that he will still bill the insurance company, and they will then send a check to me paying the portion of his fees that are covered (minus deductibles, coinsurance,etc.). He also notifed me that what they will pay, will most likely be less than his fees, so I am definitely expecting to pay for at least 1/2 the fees. Then there are also the hospital fees, which are billed seperately. There are many surgeons who would not require payment prior to the surgey, and I thought about looking into other surgeons, but I absolutely trust mine. On top of hearing rave reviews about him, he seems to be a caring and compassionate person, which is exactly what I will need to get through my recovery. Ultimately, my piece of mind was worth more to me than dealing with finding a surgeon who would not require prepayment. My suregery is on April 27th, so I will keep you updated on how this whole payment process works out for me. > > Hi my niece who is 18 is preparing for this surgery. It is totally non > cosmetic. Guest guest
Why the large sum of cash? My mom had a similar situation for another procedure and come to find out the sum of money was the deductable plus the 20% she was responsible for surgery costs (her insurance paid 80%) the dr wanted upfront. Find out exactly what the upfront cost is for exactly and how it ties in to her insurance. Jane > > Hi my niece who is 18 is preparing for this surgery. It is totally non > cosmetic. Guest guest
I too was not asked. Billing has not even come yet a month after surgery.
