Guest guest
I'M 32Y/O MALE DIAGNOSED 3 YEARS AGO WITH SARCOID. BIOPSY OF CHEST LYMPH NODES CAME BACK AS SARC. ACE READING AS OF LAST WEEK SHOW THAT IT IS INACTIVE. I HAD AN EKG FOR A YEARLY PHISICAL AND AN IRREGULAR HEART RHYTHM SHOWED UP ON ONE OF THE 12 LEADS. I FOLLOWED UP WITH A CARDIOLOGIST AND AM UNDERGOING TESTS. MY QUESTION IS WHY DO I HAVE CHEST PAIN ON AND OFF. I'M ACTIVE, AND RUN EVERYDAY. I HAVE BEEN A- SYMPTOMATIC UP UNTIL NOW. MY WIFE AND CHILD HAVE BEEN VERY GOOD AND SUPPORTED ME ALL THIS TIME, BUT NOW I'M HAVING ALOT OF ANXIETY ATTACKS. I USED TO BE ABLE TO TALK MYSELF OUT OF THEM, BUT RECENTLY I CAN'T. I HATE TAKING MEDICINE. DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THESE PROBLEMS? I KNOW THAT I COULD HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH SOMETHING FAR WORSE THAN SARC, BUT I SEEM TO THINK AND WORRY ALL THE TIME. I REALLY DON'T KNOW ANYBODY ELSE THAT HAS THIS PROBLEM(SARC). I HATE TO SOUND LIKE I COMPLAINING, BUT I AM SICK OF FEELING ALONE IN THIS WEIRD PROBLEM THAT I HAVE. Guest guest
Hi ZZ, It's not unusual for us to develop chest pain, and if your heart is starting to be involved, then some arthymias is not unusual. Being in good physical is on your side, so keep it up. There are alot of things that can contribute to both anxiety attacks as well as chest pain-- and one of them can be thyroid issues. I do hope they're checking that. ACE tests are somewhat vague, they can show if we have inflammation somewhere in the body, but are not specific to sarcoidosis. Sarc isn't picky about what organs it influences-- so it's possible to have your pulmonary (lung) sarcoidosis quiet, and still have issues in other parts of your body. FSR-- www.stopsarcoidosis.org is a great site and they have a wonderful brochure on both cardiac sarcoidosis as well as Sarcoidosis of the body. I highly recommend that you look them up, and order these brochures-- we should all have copies to share with our MD's-- and family. Are you on prednisone? That too can make you nuts when it comes to anxiety. One thing to remember is that if you are not getting enough sleep, or have sleep apnea and have sarcoid induced arthritis- then it is possible that you need an antidepressant to get the norephenprine and seratonin levels into balance. Anxiety and depression become issues when our pain levels are high, and add any of the sarc issues, your sleep cycles become disrupted-- so you end up in not only a pain cycle, but also start dealing with all this other stuff. To have to take an antidepressant does not mean you are depressed-- it can be used and is used very often to take the edge off pain. We have a tremendous LINK library with articles on sarc, as well as our MESSAGE ARCHIVES where you can search by topic and get so much information to help you understand what is going on-- and you are welcome to print out any info found and take it to your docs-- if the doc won't look at it-- find another doc. The old school of wait to treat, and use only prednisone does not have to be the only choices you have-- information is so empowering. ZZ-- know you are not alone -- we have over 580+ people on the same journey! I wish we didn't have to be here- but since we are-- I welcome you to the family-- you'll find a loving crazy, caring bunch of sarcoidians here-- and you can ask questions, vent, cry and rejoice-- With compassion, Tracie NS Co-owner/moderator Subject: chest painTo: Neurosarcoidosis Date: Saturday, April 4, 2009, 9:50 AM I'M 32Y/O MALE DIAGNOSED 3 YEARS AGO WITH SARCOID.
