Do you know what my favorite treat is in the whole world now. Especially

because I was a hard core Diet Pepsi drinker before surgery but carbonation

is such a big NO NO now. I love to go to 7-11 and get a small Diet Pepsi

slurpee. They are such a good fun treat. Mmmm! Just thought I'd share.

All about tolerance I suppose...but YAY!!!

No liquid diet here. Just nothing after 6 pm tomorrow. Hmmm, I

hope the sirloin steak and ground chuck I had yesterday doesn't

hurt. Corn on the cob today. :)

i have to do the day before surgery and no liquids after midnight the day before

surgery also, what i think it is is maybe clear liquids for a week can help

with the size of your liver if you have fatty liver it makes it harder to do the

surgery because the liver is bigger and it gets in the way , I'm not sure this

is why but it sound reasonable to me . i plan on doing liquid starting next week

because i know i have fatty liver i had a test yrs ago and i don't believe that

it has changed, anyway I'm having lap but if the liver is to big they will

change to open and i don't want that, so I'm going to do alot of clear liquids

but not totally until about a week before the surgery, i weight 243 and i barly

made it to get the surgery but i have a date now and i don't think it matters if

i loose a few lbs before the surgery i know i can't gain any at all or they will

cancel the surgery

ask your doc why that is the best way to do it ........

bye and good luck Shirley of Fontana , so cal

As far as pre-op.. Did anyone else have to do a clear liquid diet? My

doctor wanted me to do it 1 week pre-op, and it sucks. (I am getting

hungry) I do not plan on going off of it, I was just curious.. I can

have smoothies and protein shakes or soup for meals.

Thanks much!

2 days til surgery! Getting nervous and excited!

ya i understand that , I'm not real crazy about knowing it could happen ,but the

difference is that we won't go in knowing that we will come out with a big slice

from the button to chest bone , it will be all ready done and there will be

nothing to be done about it. i know alot of people who have had open and they

have not had any problem with it,takes a little longer healing and chance of

hernia , that's what i don't like. but with the lap we have a better chance of

leakage so they both have the possible problems if it had taken longer to get

the lap i would have went open with no problem, my biggest thing is my job , it

am a receiver in a warehouse and i unload simi trucks and lot of lifting some

light and some heavy some thing(most trailer are loaded on the floor) are on

pallets and you have to sort the items which means i still have to pick them up

, i don't want to be sent back to work to soon and hurt myself. at work there

has been 3 ladies who have had this done but one was a

clerical and the other two did repack job so they don't do the heavy repeated

lifting of heavy object as i do anyway i just have to make sure the doc

understands this and keeps me off long enough

good luck on surgery and the liquid diet week

bye Shirley of Fontana so cal
