Guest guest
LOL I am about 8 weeks post op with my splint still in and today a student that is not one of mine was staring at me as I was talking with our school secretary and when we were done his eyes were big and he said, " why do you talk like that? " LOL and I thought I was doing really good with the talking thing these days!! I explained that I had surgery on my mouth and he had questions of course like " does it hurt? " After I gave some simplified answers he seemed satisfied!! Guest guest
As far as speech, I'll be 4 weeks post-op on this coming Monday (the 18th) and I can talk pretty well, but like some of said, some of my words are slurred and I kinda mumble. I'm at my parents right now and they have a toy poodle named Lucy but we often just call her Poodle (inventive I know!) and when I say Poodle, it often comes out as " Foodle " , lol, much to the enjoyment of my parents!!! They also have a cat (well, technically they have 2 dogs and 4 cats, but that's besides the point) named Willow and when I try to say that I end up saying, " Wilwhoa " . At least I'm keeping my parents entertained with my fancy new accent, hehhee. > > > > > > > > I am finally scheduled in to see the surgeon for a pre op > > > appointment > > > > on 2 May - that will make it about 1 year in braces.
