I have been " walking sideways " occasionally for almost a year now, and passed out at a bookstore three weeks ago. Doctor time ASAP. Had TSH, PTH and T-3 and T-4 tests--all of them came out low. I am in rpocess of correcting that now, and one thing I have seen change in a week of higher dose of thyroid med is much less dryness of skin. It would worth it for your doc to run a COMPLETE thyroid panel. Other symtpoms of low thyroid are problems getting warm or being too hot-- thinning of hair, and eyebrows, dry skin and weight gain. The thyroid regulates much in the body, including body temp and basal metabolism. The parathyroid helps with calcium uptake amongst other things. (the PTH test is for parathyroid and calcium blood serum) Hang in there. You have been through SO much. I am sorry for this, for all persons ought be able to focus on more in life than just their frail health. Geez. this comes with love, ceep
