Guest guest
Tigger, I also have an ulcer and have had it from before WLS (Oct,2001). I had bursitis in my hips and got the ulcer from long term NSAID use. I tested neg for H Pilori (sp?). My surgeon took me off the ulcer meds at one year and after 4 days I knew it was still there because one sip of water and I had pain in my stomach. I was told that the ulcer meds were probably forever. My understanding is this is not unusual for many of us to have ulcers. We just need to be careful and take our meds, avoid all NSAIDs and see our Docs regularly. Hope all goes well, Sheryl Portland,OR
Guest guest
Thank you. I was wondering why it hurt when I only took a sip of water. I guess that's part of it. Will they see the ulcer (if in fact that's what the problem is) when they do the Upper GI? Also, since I had my surger I've vomited a lot (also before surgery), could this have lead to a problem? I'm also neg. for H. Pylori. Today is day 2 of Nexium.... hope it works. Tigger > Tigger, > I also have an ulcer and have had it from before WLS (Oct,2001). Guest guest
I do not believe an Upper GI discovers an ulcer. Mine were found by an endoscopic exam. Guest guest
Vitalady also responded with " Not usually with an Upper GI " . If they believe it's ulcers, and it doesn't show up on an UGI, then does anyone know why the heck they've ordered this test? I'm still in pain, and I still have no answers, and in case you can't tell....my patience is wearing pretty thing. Can anyone try to give me some explanations. Thanks, Tigger > > > Tigger, > > > I also have an ulcer and have had it from before WLS (Oct,2001). I > > had bursitis in my hips and got the ulcer from long term NSAID use.
