I used to be pals with Charlie (now deceased), and he would lean his big body against me, and kind wrap his head around my leg. I guess that's their way of saying they like you. Poor Charlie had to wear booties most of the time, because racing had ripped up his pads. When he wasn't in booties, he would stick his feet into one of the water bowls at the park to to relive them. Such wonderful dogs! Holly, http://www.adopt-a-greyhound.org/ No, we didn't get a hug from him -- he was too worried about whether or not Ko was going to attack him. (Ko, btw, was also a rescue, from a puppy mill. He had true dachshund heart and soul -- he developed back problems, and was paralyzed from mid-back down. I taught him to walk again, but Ko was the one who had the soul to make it work.) Now, the ones who were amazingly affectionate were the borzoi... the Russian wolfhounds.... — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle

Have you thought of writing books like that Marilyn? You tell great pet stories (after the cookbook of course!). I've thought of it. But I keep answering questions here on the boards. <g> And not getting the cook book OR my novels finished! — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
