No, we didn't get a hug from him -- he was too worried about whether or

not Ko was going to attack him. (Ko, btw, was also a rescue, from a puppy

mill. He had true dachshund heart and soul -- he developed back problems,

and was paralyzed from mid-back down. I taught him to walk again, but Ko

was the one who had the soul to make it work.)

Now, the ones who were amazingly affectionate were the borzoi... the

Russian wolfhounds....
