NO! It does not occur because the pt eats too much. It is not a fault

issue. The body tries to return to normal, even if normal was killing us.

An interesting theory I heard at the conference has to do with backpressure

in the distal stomach. Being sealed at the top (at ;least to start), and

having a pylorus valve at the bottom, there is a certain amount of pressure

in there. When the pylorus works right, it lets the digested food/juices

out, slams shut so they can't get back in. But in our case, there is not the

normal ebb & flow of food. So the gastric juices can back up, creating

pressure from the bottom up.

That SO fits what we see in real life. I know I didn't out et mine. If

someone was going to outeat it with volume, it'd be some of the men I know

Not pointing fingers, just that they have a lil more trouble getting a

handle on volume. But no, they're still intact, while the careful measurers

disrupt.

It's mechanical, not mental. Like the relaxed stoma or a fistula. Stuff

happens and very often, it is not fair. Because we are who we are, we

automatically take it personally.

On the other hand, we'd also take a flat tire personally. " If I hadn't been

on THIS road. If I had served. If my tires were better. If I was a better

human being. " You see the progression......
