Kate,

Don't worry, I'm not at all offended. You made some great points

that I will seriously think about. I got the okay on my ceramics

last April 2004, just a few weeks before I had my braces put on, so

I just didn't understand how their opinion could change so quickly.

One of my concerns with metal has always been having an allergic

reaction to them, even though their stainless steel, correct?

Anyways, I'm allergic to everything, earrings, and I'm currently on

my second set of wedding bands because I had a wonderful reaction to

the first. This has even been a concern over the plates and screws

that they will attach to my jaw bone, and my OS told me that in the

future he can open me up and take the plates back out if need be, of

course once I've healed. It's true though that for a year I have

gotten use out of these, and already got over the initial

embarrasement of having braces. Thanks for the concern, and

especially about the point of not being able to possibly see a

ceramic on an xray. I'll let you all know what I decide.
