Guest guest
Kate, Let me just say, I am not the easiest person in the world to offend. Probably because I have three children who have informed me in the past that 1) I have " rabbit " teeth (not anymore though since braces) 2) that my teeth are not white but yellow (which I am getting whitened as soon as the braces come off) and 3) that I am a little fat (working on that as well), although my 6 year old desperately tried to make me feel better by saying that he liked me that way. Just wanted to let you know that I also ate hardly anything the first couple of weeks, oatmeal or cream of wheat in the morning, and soup or soft pasta for other meals. This was the same the first couple of times I went in for adjustments for my braces, although after the first couple of times the adjustments only bother you for a day or two. You quickly learn substitues for the things you are craving. One example, I love potato chips (not to mention the fact that tortilla chips, Doritos etc. are sooo hard to eat), and I learned that I can eat Lays brand because they're so thin, but not Ruffles because they are to thick. Also, always get a good breakfast and lunch on the day of your adjustment because you start getting sore later. Hope this helps! Connie > > Connie, > > I'm so glad I didn't upset you! After reading the objections from others, I was worried I came off the wrong way... today hasn't been my greatest in the world of communications - I think this morning I may have inadvertently publicly challenged my parasitology professor when I was just trying to explain my point of view with no disrespect intended... I was telling my best friend about my communication blunders, and she informed me that I was a cross between and Lynnette - scattered, accident prone and an open invitation to drama and distaster, while at the same time a bit outspoken about causes, beliefs, loyalties and opinions at the expense of diplomacy. If any of you are as addicted to Desperate Housewives as we are, you understand! LOL > > I'm sure everything will work itself out, and you are lucky to get going with your surgery! I've had braces on for a month, and I've lost too much weight already and I'm worried about what is yet to come with my surgery. I went to a formal 2 weeks ago for my undergrad friends' fraternity (my 10th formal!), and the dress I bought for it in September was too big! I was devastated, but more embarrassed by the fact that everyone kept asking me if I was ok. They were with me 9 years ago when I got sick in school and had to pull out on medical advice, and they said I am smaller now than I was then. It's funny how we don't notice these things ourselves. I wanted to take a picture of myself with a bright shiny smile last night, and when I reviewed the picture I seriously didn't recognize the person in the photo... almost looked like a cancer patient. I'm actually getting a little scared. Of the three New Year's Resolutions I made this year, one was to run a 5K... I never ran > before... so I am registered to run in the G. Komen Race for the Cure in 2 weeks, and I have barely enough energy to last half that distance. Before braces, I was hitting 3.5 miles consistently and at a good pace. > > Someone mentioned having to learn how to eat again with these things... boy, you aren't kidding there! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that things work out the way you want them to... just think - you're almost there! > > Ok, done babbling now. Sorry again if I offended anyone - that's not ever my intentions at all! > > Kate > > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > Katrina M.
