I have a Safety 1st car seat and it seems to do the trick. I never

used it rear facing, but my daughter doesn't have any problems.

Our son has a Britax Boulevard in my husbands car and is very comfy in

it is in helmet. I have a Chicco Key Fit in my car and he is comfy in

it as well. He is pretty tall, almost 28 inches.

Good luck!

I just bought a Britax Marathon online at Travelingtikes.com for

$218.99 with free shipping. Which is $50 off the sugg. retail.

They actually has some other prints for under $200, but they are

really girly and I want to be able to use this seat through a few

kids. Good luck in your search! I went with a Britax as I have heard

it is very very safe and did lots of research myself and it comes

highly recommended from EVERYONE! Meg

pounds and front facing 5-part harness until 70 pounds.  They are

also mainly tested in Germany, which do crash tests up to 70 mph

compared to most USA brands that test at 45 mph.  They are the same

makers of some actual racing seats, so they have very high safety

standards.  I did lots of research and watched lots of videos on

youtube (which had me scared to death and I wanted her in

an extremely safe seat right then and there).  When my hubby and I

went to the store I knew I wanted a britax, recaro, or sunshine kids

readian 80.  My husband looked them over and thought the recaro was

the most well built.  My daughter is almost 7 months old and 16

pounds and she looks like she's sitting in a baby lazy boy!  It was

$280 compared to britax's $320.  I know it will last her a long time

and she will be safe as she grows with the 5 part harness.

I have an Evenflo Triumph Advance model. It's much more affordable than the Brita and will do rear facing up to 35 pounds and up to 50 pounds (I think) forward facing. The cover slips off very easily and seems comfy in it (she often falls asleep in it). did not outgrow her infant seat until she was a year old, but because she was so small, she had to stay rear facing. She's now barely over 21 pounds, but the doctor recommended that we keep her rear facing until she gets a little larger.
