please advise...on braces off during treatment?

Hi everyone!

I had my diagnostics done last week. In 2nd week of May, my

orthodontist is going to tell me how exactly the braces are going to

be put on. He at least has confirmed that I will need four teeth

extracted and metallic braces will be put on teeth. He also said my

teeth are too crowded for invisalign. So it looks like

ceramic/metallic braces is the only option for me.

I am currently in USA. I am travelling back to my country for fixing

my marriage in late 2005. Here is the problem! I do not want to

wear/show braces during my marriage (ceremony goes for 2 weeks). Also,

It is very likely that I will lose marriage proposals if people see me

in braces. It is their mentality and I cannot help it :-(

I am very comfortable wearing braces in USA for next 2 years...My

question is...Is it possible for me to take the metallic braces off

for my marriage trip for 2-3 weeks..and when I come back I can put the

braces back again. Can I instead use retainers for this trip?

Please help me out with your knowledge. I need to know about it before

I go for braces. Has someone experienced it? Thanks so much!
