I just had my surgery done through BCBS and although I did get a

preauthorization, they were great through the whole process. My OS told me they

are one of the most patient friendly providers out there. In fact my

orthodontics when longer than anticipated and I had to reauthorize after a year

and there were absolutely no problems.

Hi everyone,

I am sceduled to have surgery at the end of this month, and Blue Cross

has told my oral surgeon (an in-network provider) that no

preauthorization was needed for my surgery codes, and to go ahead and

do the surgery. I want to go ahead and get it done, but I'm slightly

skeptical, especially with everything I've been through with the last

insurance co. Has anyone else been told this?

,

I also have BCBS and I didn't have any problems at

all. I broke the jaw last year and had to put a plate.

This year I changed to BCBS and just had surgery to

remove the plate. They were pretty good. My doc took

care of everything, and the insurance said there was

no need for preauthorization. I called them to confirm

and through the whole process they were really good.

Everything was done really fast.

No complaints.
