Guest guest
Hi I'm having surgery predominantly to alleviate headaches and migraines caused by TMJ. A member on the second orthognathics surgery board had surgery for this same reason about 5 months ago I think and is 100% satisfied. If you want to contact her directly to ask more questions go to the second orthognathics website and look for Angel. Guest guest
I also had the surgery to help alleviate migraine pain possibly caused by my jaw misalignment. It is way too soon for me to know if it will help or not. When I asked my OS what the percentage of success I could expect with regards to headaches, he said there are no guarantees. He said that the theory is that by making the jaw function properly, it should relieve stress on the joint. In turn, reducing headaches, but there are just no guarantees. > > Is anyone having the surgery or has had the surgery to alleviate > headaches > > and migraine caused by a mis-aligned jaw. Guest guest
, My migraines, about three years ago when I begun this whole process, had become daily parts of my existence. I woke up with them and went to sleep with them - most days. Since my first surgery (upper expansion) they have almost disappeared. I get them now maybe once or twice a month - and that's a party compared to 20-25 times a month! Ironically, one of the potential side affects of orthognathic surgery - is migraines. So, I'm just hopeful that my second surgery (tomorrow) won't bring them back. I'm looking forward to reading the other responses you've received. Best of luck, Carol > Is anyone having the surgery or has had the surgery to alleviate headaches > and migraine caused by a mis-aligned jaw. Guest guest
, Yup, tomorrow. If I think about it too much - I freeze. I promise to chime in once I'm home from the hospital. Thanks so much, Carol > > Is anyone having the surgery or has had the surgery to alleviate > headaches > > and migraine caused by a mis-aligned jaw.
