Guest guest
I have a question for those with some experience lifting weights - using cybex machines or any machines for that matter. the whole weight machine thing is pretty new to me - about 2mo. before this I did some hand weights, free weights but that was about it and with no consistency. now I'm doing at least twice a week a routine of 10machines that primarily work the legs and arms. anyhow I've been able to increase my weights some since I started but what I'm wondering is that some days I just can't even lift nearly as much or as many reps - its like some days I could easily do more and other days I can barely do half of what I did. I suppose its like anything - one day I'm starving and one day I'm not. but I was just wondering since I have like no experience with these machines or this type exercise. most of the trainers at the fitness center at night seem useless. I still have one more session with a trainer but havent' had the time to do it. sue
Guest guest
This is normal. Sometimes it's because I am tired, or sometimes it occurs just before my body let's me increase to the next level. It's just like in the cardio...somedays I'm cool as a cuke and the next day, doing the same thing, I will sweat to death. I also will gain a couple of pounds just before I drop some more weight. I have profound respect for the body's ability to pull back and try to protect itself from losing weight. I know when it's hard to left or I'm cool, that it's just a matter of time before I " win " over my body and I'm able to take it to the next level. If I give up during these times, the body wins and gets to keep it's weight and current fitness level. It's kind of strange. It's my body, I live in it, but sometimes it's almost like my brain is the host to two separate entities: my self and my body. Oooooo.
