hernia question

My surgery originally scheduled for tomorrow for hernia repair and hysterectomy

is being postponed. I am seeing a specialist next Wednesday and will have the

surgery scheduled with him.

In the meantime the discomfort from the ovarian cyst, fibroid and large hernia

is increasing.

I have a hard time getting comfortable with the hernia as it is getting to be

the size of about a 7 mos pregnancy exept that the bulge is all above my navel

and makes sitting uncomfortable. I can feel the pressure from both the fibroid

and the cyst as well.

My question is... does anyone know of anything I can do to relieve the hernia

discomfort? I have been tempted to go out and purchase a panty girdle just to

push it in but am not sure that is the best idea. It is not really pain,

although I can feel it pull when I move. I am having trouble with walking for

exercise because although standing is okay when I do it, after about 10 mins on

my feet the pressure of the fibroid on my thighs causes them to ache like crazy

(ultra sound shows the fibroid is about 1/2 times the size of my uterus itself)

Any suggestions for comfort relief would be greatly appreciated. I have pain

meds for the back pain caused by the cyst but that doesn't really help me deal

with the bulk of the hernia. Yup ... just like being preggers except I am not

being kicked from the inside. hehehe
