Just so happy right now and wanted to share with all. Found out the

reason why I was so miserably sick after the hysterectomy. Doc put me on

a birth control ring that is inserted for three weeks at a time. Seems I

am ultra sensitive to any type of birth control and had every side

effect that was printed from the mildest to call the coroner because

you're going to die in ten minutes. Within two days of removing the

ring, I was feeling much better. One problem down. Whoopeee. Left side

pain is due to the left ovary trying to adjust to being in charge of

everything and that pain has toned down by 90%. Another Whoopee. My

iron levels are still in the toilet, even with taking 300 mg of Niferex.

Hemoglobin on last blood work on Friday was 9.6 and ferritin is

non-existent. Gastro doc sent me to a hematologist who happens to be my

friend's husband and I used to work for him, so he got me in right away

(usual wait to get to see him is about two weeks). Saw him today and he

said if I would have waited much longer, I would have had to have a

transfusion. Hemoglobin today was 9. Gave me my first iron infusion and

told me that I have to come in twice a week for a least a month or more

to not only get up my hemoglobin, but to replenish my iron stores. Just

have to go in there, get an injection and leave. Told me takes 5-10

minutes. He is hoping that I will be back to where I should be within a

month or two. Feeling so much better knowing that I won't be walking

around like a zombie anymore.

The SVT seems to be under better control since I started taking the salt

tablets along with the other medications and have been vertical for at

least two weeks straight. Tomorrow I go to the orthopedist to discuss

the pinched nerve in my back. The epidural steroid injections didn't

work, so now he is going to send me for physical therapy and to a pain

management center. Hoping the physical therapy will make a difference.

If not for anything else, it is at least exercise which I haven't been

doing much of for the past few months. Now that I can do some, Tim told

me he broke my treadmill and has to fix it. So I guess I'll be 90 by the

time that happens. At least the physical therapy will get me started.

I told Tim the other day I feel like I did when I weighed 378 lbs.

Everything is an effort. Always tired. Don't want to do anything. Very

cranky. Actually started to feel a bit more energetic this afternoon.

Don't know if its from the infusion or just the thought that something

is being done. Don't know if you get an immediate reaction to it. Just

feeling more hopeful that things are finally starting to turn around.

Tim and I celebrated our 15 year anniversary last night. We had a fun

night out and got a little goofy. Felt good. Its been a long summer with

the surgery, recuperating, kids home, play dates, blah, blah. Just felt

nice the two of us, relaxed, talking and laughing. Felt like we were

dating not celebrating 15 years of marriage. I guess these days that is

an accomplishment all in itself.

I know I've been complaining a lot over the past year and everyone has

been wonderful. It really has been a tough one with the accidents, the

broken nose, the surgeries, the this, the that and the other things. I

just thought I would share some good things that are starting to happen.

I am thankful for each little baby step that I take and so looking

forward to feeling good again. Told my son I should be back to normal

soon and he asked me, " what is normal for you mom? " . Just broke my

heart that I've put these kids through so much over the past few years.

I just have to get over the guilt thing and get on with it.

Thanks again for all the support. I'm sitting here with a smile on my

face and there hasn't been one there in awhile. There is hope. : )

Love,

Regina
