See link below.*** Dear Migrant Health Colleagues, Accessing health care services is a significant challenge for farmworker families when they migrate for work. The Texas Migrant Care Network is a program that enables migrant families from Texas to access Texas Medicaid benefits even if they are temporarily living out of state. Out-of-state providers who serve Texas migrant families can enroll as Texas Medicaid providers and receive reimbursement for the care they provide. Texas providers can greatly reduce the amount of outreach/eligibility staff time and administrative expenses associated with continually re-enrolling families who have dropped their Texas coverage. And Texas migrant families can access the care they need without being burdened by the complicated and time-consuming process of trying to enroll in a different state’s Medicaid program. This session will provide an overview of the Texas Migrant Care Network targeting all professionals that work directly with migrant families, including eligibility workers, outreach staff, promotores/as, front desk staff, billing staff, and administrators both in and outside of Texas. It will provide an update on out-of-state providers who are currently seeing patients from Texas and billing Texas Medicaid. The webcast will also introduce participants to a screening tool developed by the Texas Association of Community Health Centers and Health Outreach Partners to identify individuals who can benefit from the Texas Migrant Care Network and route them for enrollment, renewal and/or out-of-state care.
