Guest guest
Thanks Marilyn and n! I am going to get all the ones you mentioned that I don't already have (some of those I grow in my garden). I am ready to try some exotic things and experiment with different kinds of chili peppers. I just hope my gut is ready too! > > After about 2 years of SCD, I am going to start experimenting with some spices. I miss Mexican food sooooo much and I am hoping I can tolerate spicy food again. In the spirit of experimentation, does anybody have any recommendation for legal Penzey's spices that they love or can't live without? They don't have to be Mexican spices, anything delicious! > > Thanks! > Dawn >
Guest guest
I only have the the garlic and onion powder, but WOW. What a difference from the store bought I used before SCD. They are so fresh and flavorful. And I don't have a dehydrator so it's nice to know there are a few conveniences out there I was bummed to see that ALL of their vanilla's had sugar added to them. As for arranging spices alphabetically... this diet definitely takes major organization. C'mon... who else has organized binders of recipes or makes endless " to-do " lists for their cooking? -Joanna SCD 9/2009, Crohn's 1992, 27.5mg Prednisone > > Thanks Marilyn and n! Cooking has always been a hobby for me. I am Italian, and food is love. > > > > Thanks Marilyn and n! I have a drawer full, also alphabetized (does that mean we're anal retentive? :-) -- and I refill their nice little bottles (some plastic, some glass) as needed. Probably! But when you have that many spices and herbs, it's easier to have them alphabetized, and be able to grab the item you need quickly! Last summer, when I went to Milwaukee, I got to visit the shop attached to their main warehouse. Ooooh the smells!
