Guest guest
-----Original Message----- From: cindy rickel Since you suffered from a blood clot, maybe you can take a drug like Plavix. I *******My .03 I have coronary artery disease and a three year old pouch. The disease made itself knows at 16 months post op but I had gotten a fairly good list of not so good drugs to take before then, i.e., asprin, etc, and had babied my pouch from the beginning. I had two stents placed in the LAD and Right Circumflex, but they blocked again immediately and two subsequent heart catherizations to verify and one other imaging procedure. My cardio doc, being a client of mine knew me and even though he was keenly aware that I had had RNY prescribed asprin anyway,,,,when I talked to him about he slapped his forehead and said " I forgot and was just not thinking. " He then prescribed Plavix and said that he would give me this instead and said that basically they do the same thing re platelet sticking etc., but that asprin was just ever so much cheaper and most folks did just as well with it. After by bypass last September, I am proud to say that I am on no drugs for blood thinning but I have added garlic to my supps as one of the things I do, along with megadoses of Dry E,,,,,,,along with folic acid and one or two other things. I also followed Carol's advice about doing Omega 3 oils, and/or cod liver oil and switched to daily consumption of Flaxseed having become convinced that it is the better choice. Four months ago my blood lipids were 155/69 and the cardio doc wants em even lower and wanted me on Lippitor. I declined to risk my liver with the ratios that my diet and other supps have given me. My rheumatoligist agreed with my decision, telling me that he felt that drug was a liver killer. I see way too much liver probs in most of us anyway and mine has been abused for the majority of my adult life anyway. Bottom line here for me as always is, it is about personal research, making health decisions for myself and trying as best I can to be informed. Personally, my phlilosophy is the least amount of chemicals I add to my body, the better off I am.
