Guest guest
Hi , I also had lower advancement and genio in June 04 and I am suffering exactly the same pain/cracking probs. It is better than it was a couple of months ago, but it's still not right. I'm hopeful that it will improve further though. What is annoying me more is the continued puffiness in my cheeks. Some days I am really pleased with my new look and others I look all puffed up and stupid. There seems to be no obvious reason why the levels of puffiness keep changing and I would not have expected this to still be happeniong after 6 months. Especially as I only had lower surgery. Do you have this problem? Regards Nic. , > > I had my surgery in june of 04 and i was wondering if anyone else > had problems like im having. the first problem is that sometimes > when i open my mouth (doesnt matter how wide) you can hear a > cracking sound. Guest guest
I would talk to your surgeon if I were you, and ask him his opinion about your complaints. I had my surgery (lower advancement, SARPE and genio) on June 16 of 2004. I do not have the cracking sound. I hardly ever have any joint pain. I do have limited opening of my mouth, but I've noticed that that has become slightly better in the last weeks. I never had a wide opening before the surgery either, so it doesn't really bother me. I think that we're all still trying to adjust to the new positions of our mouths, I for one am still learning the best way to chew my food, to speak etc. I've done all of that a certain way for 26 years, so relatively speaking, 7 months is a short time to get it right. Guest guest
Hi, I had lower jaw advancement on May 2004. I have no numbness - actually, all numbness subsided within 3 months. If you're having the tingling, i'm sure the numbness in that area will subside. I consider myself close to, if not fully, healed. My only concern now is the fact that i will need to wear braces for another 10 months; hence, wearing braces 1.5 years AFTER the surgery. The 'cracking' is VERY concerning. I never had such challenges. Have you disucssed this with your surgeon? good luck! > > I had my surgery in june of 04 and i was wondering if anyone else > had problems like im having. the first problem is that sometimes > when i open my mouth (doesnt matter how wide) you can hear a > cracking sound.
