Guest guest
For those of you who had LeFort I Osteotomy can you share what was receovery period like? I understand it varies by person but any information will be helpful. Did you have to stay in hospital overnight or was it come and go procedure. Any other info will be helpful. For referrence I am 27 old male who just underwent SARPE last Friday. It was relativelly painless, Hour and half surgery and 2-3 hours recovery in hospital bed and I was back on my feet. I did not feel much pain at all. I wa taking Oxycodone for 5 days after surgery maybe that reduced the pain, I do not know. My LeFort I osteotomy is one year away. Guest guest
I had Lefort 1 osteotomy 8 weeks ago and I spent one night in the hospital and wish I would have spent at least 2 nights because as soon as I got off the morphine and went to the liquid pain meds I did not do well. But as soon as I called the OS he took me off the liquid and gave me pills since I was only banded and was able to open enough to get the pain pills in my mouth. The pain was contolled by the pain meds and ice. I was off all pain meds in 7 days. Make sure you have plenty of Q-tips, since you can not blow your nose. You will probably have a bloody nose after surgery and the q-tips really help to clean it up. My nose stopped bleeding after 2 days, and it wasn't constant. The swelling is what bothers me the most. I still have some residual swelling in and around my nose and in my mouth, although nobody can tell but me. I still have a tight feeling around my nose, which is from the swelling. You probably will not have much feeling in your nose and it may hurt if you try to move it in any way, just recently am I able to scratch my nose and feel it. Your top gums will be numb, mine still are. Overall everything has gone well for me, I am just impatient and want all the swelling and tightness to be gone. Hope this helps, if you have anymore questions feel free to ask, > > For those of you who had LeFort I Osteotomy can you share what was > receovery period like?
