Greg, here is a picture of me on my recumbent trike. If it doesn't come through, you can find it in my album in the NS Photos. I really love it & it's easy on all my joints. My main problem is that all the neighborhood kids, from kindergarten to teens, want to ride it all the time. My other favorite exercise is kayaking; much less work than canoeing. I capsize on purpose, especially when I get too hot.

Rose,

Looks like your having fun. But thats a road bike, I like off road. I love the

challenge of new trails. Though I may no longer have the ability to do trails I

still have to try and find out. I may in the near future have to sell my full

suspension Mountain Bike with disc brakes and get me one of those Recumbant

Bike. But please let me try to get back on the trails first. My real issue right

now is as I increase my heart rate working out I get dizzy and fall off the

stairclimber and stationary bike. Monitoring and controling my blood sugar by

diet. Blood sugar ranging from 200 to 89 tho its been averaging approx. 120 the

last 2 weeks. Also monitoring blood pressure and thats not good either 155/102

to 112/82. My lower number is averaging around 97. I think I will be a lot

happier and healthier when I get off this Prednisone. Got docs working on that.

It is recessing my neurosarcoidosis. But the side effects are kicking my

backside. The words I would use describe this

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Prednisone I will not use here. O Rose I can say those words in about 5

differrent languages.

Hugs and best wishes to all,

Greg aka Krumdawg

Good luck with the bike, Greg. I had to quit riding bikes several years ago because of the balance problems. I knew someone with a recumbent bike & started researching on the Internet, thinking that if I fell off, at least I wouldn't fall as far! While looking for recumbent bikes, I started seeing stuff about recumbent trikes & thought "what the heck is that?!?" Once I read up on them, I was pretty well sold. The local bike shop didn't carry them at that time, so I found a shop near Indianapolis & went there 3 times to ride a trike around their parking lot! I think they got suspicious that I wasn't a buyer. I had to save for a year to get the trike I wanted, but it was worth it. They actually make trikes for competitive riders; they go very fast & are so much easier on your body. I'd never go back to riding a "wedgie" even if I could keep my balance. If the bike doesn't work out, Greg, just start reading up on recumbent trikes & watching some of the videos; it'll blow your mind. One guy coasted down a mountain in Utah, reaching about 160mph. The fastest I've gone is 17mph behind the high school, and that scared me to death. I don't wear a helmet & if I'd hit a rock or something I could've gone flying. It's hard to flip my trike, but not impossible. My grandson tried to get tricky on the ice this winter & flipped over into a pile of snow. Luckily it was about 3 ft. deep. So in case you think this is a vehicle for old ladies, NOTTTTT! Have fun one way or the other, kiddo.
