Guest guest
The surgeon in Atlanta wants me to have some further tests.. MRI and MRI MRCP.. liver biopsy, and serum h pylori tests.. I dont have a problem having these tests done. If the tests are negative or inconclusive, he wants to pursue the avenue that the right upper quadrant pain is muscoskeletal.. I really dont have a problem with him pursuing that avenue except for how he wants to treat. He wants me to take vioxx.. I am not going to take Vioxx.. I have already experienced one marginal ulcer that perforated.. and I thought I read somewhere or was told by the GI doc that vioxx, Celebrex.. although not classified as nsaids, but cox II inhibitors.. still were responsible for causing gastric bleeds.. not interested in taking even a small chance. He also gave me a rx for pepto bismol.. not sure why.. wasnt told on this one.. and a rx for a combination of prevacid.. I am already taking 60 mg prevacid daily.. flagyl and tetracycline.. to fight h pylori if I have a positive blood test.. Anyway, I didnt particularly like this surgeon or his office staff.. and I dont plan to go back .. if I have to have this pain for the remainder of my life.. I am pretty frustrated right now.. Thanks for letting me vent.. Take care Peachy hugs,
