The docs weren't sure exactly WHAT to give me in place....but they all said the same thing...NO Vioxx!! They sent me home with Darvocet. At the time I was kinda ticked because I had always thought of Darvocet as a " baby " drug, and was convinced that I needed something much more BIG GUNS if you know what I mean. But I gotta tell ya.......it is working great! It is not by any means as long life as Vioxx.......after 4-6 hours the pain is back......but it works long enough for me to get the the laundry or housecleaning done. Vioxx lasted all day and night. I am sad about the Vioxx and wish there was a great alternative.....but for now I will have to settle for the 4-6 hours I get with the Darvocet. I really feel for your nephew......constant pain sucks......and for some reason most docs just don't seem to care enough. I hope all works out for him. P.
