Hi Debbie,

banding is really much easier than you think. In terms of CT vs Hanger, it

depends in part on which hanger office you are dealing with. CT has a very good

reputation overall, and ther staff is generally very well trained, and their

clients happy. With Hanger the bands are made by a central facility, but the

orthos operate pretty independently, and their level of skill and experience

differs quite a bit. With a good ortho the bands are similar. That is why it is

important to check out the person at hanger who would provide your band and see

if they have a good reputation, have treated children similar to yours etc.

and needs to have his head shape corrected. I was hoping to use Cranial

Technologies, but my insurance will not cover them. They will probably cover a

band from Hanger. I would love to hear about people's experiences with Hanger

as I'm trying to decide if I should use Hanger or pay out of pocket for Cranial

Technologies. Everyone's input would be greatly appreciated!

We went with Hanger b/c they are the only ones in our area. I was overall happy

with our care. out tech was pretty flakey but my daughter got great correction.

We also started her at the end of 4 months and she only wore her helmet for 7

weeks total. she went from 10mm to 1mm. So i was very happy with the progress.

you just have to stay on your tech and if you feel something is not right or

working you should speak up and i am sure this is with any banding company you

would use.

Good Luck!

Yea our hanger office in Colorado I have nothing good to say, so its always good to check first. I wish I had checked the rep of my local hangerSent via BlackBerry from T-MobileFrom: "Foley, Molly" Date: Sat, 4 Apr 2009 18:26:55 -0700<Plagiocephaly >Subject: RE: Re: Experience with Hanger To expand on 's comments, you should post which Hanger facility you are considering going to and see if you can get some feedback specific to that location. Hi, we are almost finished with our Hanger band. we are in Cincinnati Ohio

suburbs and went to Childrens hospital there. We have had great success. Our

son wore it for 9 weeks and was down to 2 mm from 18mm. We should be done with

23 hr wear 4/8 and just have to wear it to sleep in for a couple weeks. Our

office does 100s/year. They are pretty experienced. I think that is the key.

Good luck, I hope the Hanger office near you is good. We have Blue Cross

insurance and they covered a hanger band.

Debbie,

We are using Hanger in Connecticut for my son. I have been posting our

experience so far on this board. Look for posting titled ' Hanger in Connecticut

'. Feel free to email me with any questions you have. We have been very happy

with Hanger so far.

we are paying out of pocket for the doc band from cranial technologies and couldn't be happier with our son's progress. (for the record, our insurance didn't cover anywhere—united healthcare—so we didn't have to make the same decision you are making.)
