Guest guest
My son has had his band for 2 weeks and never had a problem with nursing. It doesn't even seem to bother my arm, maybe because it is pretty light. I certainly understand your nervousness, but it has been great for me to know lots of other people have had the same fears and worries as me. Annie > > My son is going to get his StarBand on Monday and I'm already nervous wreck (though I am all for it). I'm curious if and how it interferes with nursing? I still nurse 6x a day (bottle is not an option) and i'm affraid he will wean off too soon... any advice? >
Guest guest
I just want to chime in with the same answer everyone else is giving you, which is to say that we have had no problem with nursing at all. The helmet is of course less comfortable on the arm than a head would be, but I got used to that really fast. The only thing is that I have to check that the helmet is not scrunching his eyes, which happens if my arm is pushing it up the back of his head. You'll know what I mean if you see it, and this is easy to correct. By the way, we have a Starband too and have had awesome and fast results! Guest guest
Ditto what everyone else has said. STILL nurses about 4 to 6 times a day. It hasn't slowed her down at all. The velcro hasn't gotten in the way. Sometimes, I have to reposition her head to sit just right in my arm, but it's not uncomfortable at all. I was also worried about this because the nursing has been important for to help with her growth due to her food allergies. But, as I said, it didn't slow her down. If fact, one of the first things she did in the office after they put the helmet on was to nurse. She still does it there to calm herself down after they scan her head (she gets really upset). , mom to , 19 months 19.5 weeks in STARband plus CST land Re: nursing baby with helmet? Guest guest
We have had no issues with nursing with the helmet. Our son nurses with no problems. It just leaves an indentation in my arm. It doesn't hurt too much. I guess I could have put a blanket between the helmet and my arm to avoid it.
