Hi there ladies,

i had a hysterectomy with one ovary removed when i was 26 and the

last ovary removed at 29. i then had wls 23 months ago...i've

switched estrogen replacements 5 times now since wls because i was

still have low-estrogen symptoms.

well, i did the spit test on my current estrogen (Cenestin) only to

see only the very top coating dissolved after 45 minutes -- NOT GOOD!

so i've tried premarin (twice), cenestin, estratest, and estradiol

(the patch) in the last 23 months to no relief and now that i've been

diagnosed with osteoperosis my suspicion is that my body has not

gotten adequate estrogen since wls...

(btw i can't get the patches to stay on longer than 2-3 days even

with all types of medical tape)

so what type of estrogen do you take and does your doctor do a lab

test to make sure you're getting adequate amounts?

thanks soooo much!

I was having an allergic reaction to some of the hormone patches and

some wouldn't stay stuck. Depends on the adhesive that the

manufacturer uses as to how it acts. I am currently using Vivelle

dots- they have to be changed twice a week and so far they stick so

darn good that I can't get the adhesive off without some remover.

But, I was still having problems with vaginal dryness so my gynie

prescribed some vaginal tablets twice a week. They are a very small

tablet (about the size of the sublingual B12) that come preloaded on

an inserter. You just insert the thingy, depress the plunger and it

deposits the tablet right where it does the most good. You might ask

your doc about VagiFem- comes in different dosages as does the

Vivelle Dots.
