Guest guest
hi brenda. i applaud your candid sharing :-). it sounds like you're on your way to improving your quality of life. keep digging deep, & have faith, hunny. lori h. > So it sounds like they may really get the ball rolling. I am really scared but the more posts I read on these lists the > more comfortable I feel. They have only lost two patients which they say was the super obese. She can't guarantee anything but she thought my chances were really good comming out of this in flying colors. I was really thinking about baking out until they made me get ont he scale and yes I had put on a lot more weight. I thought I only weighed 320 but now I am up to 347 and that was before I ate anything today. So it scares me even more not doing anything. If I keep putting on 30 pounds a year in no time I will be a big mess probably in a wheelchair. That wouldn't be much of a life for my kids would it? I already have terrible back and knee pain when I walk very far at all. I have a hard time standing up. So I keep trying to tell myself if I don't have the surgery next year, How bad of shape will I be in? Probably a lot worse. They say the band has fewer complications but they didn't know if my insurance company would cover it or not. If anyone has had this I would like > to hear from them. Actually the summer would be a good time for me to have the surgery since my 11 year olds would be here to help with the younger ones at first. I am scared of the surgery but I am more afraid if I don't what will happen to me. Life has got to get better than this. I hope. And I hope and pray that I am making the right decision, but I really don't think I could lose enough weight to really make a difference on my own and then I would probably gain it back next winter plus more, we all know the vicious cycle, I know we have all been there. So I guess I will find out more Saturday. They have a book they want me to buy at the support group meeting. Does anyone know how much this book costs? Just wanted to know ahead of time. Thank you all for listening to me and helping me make the right decision. Also if anyone has had Federated Mutual Insurance company could you let me know how long it takes them to approve this surgery or if you had to do a couple > appeals.
