Hello,

Anyone here taking ground flaxseed? There are a variety of healthy

benefits to it, and I have started taking it. I am just curious if

anyone else has had any experience with it...specifically if there are

any pouch issues post-op.

; I take ground flaxseed. I take 2 TBS every day the doctor and nutritionist put me on it about 2 months ago because I have developed diverticulosis and I can't get enough fiber in for this disease. I take it sometimes in cottage cheese, eggs, etc. But it does not

help much. I also take benefiber. That does not taste at all but I

am not sure it helps. I am working on it though because I do not

like and can not tolerate any constipation. Love, Lilka

I mix it in my yogurt...its really yummy that way.

Also drinking your water and exercising helps keep you regulated. Lilka you will notice change when you really get going at Curves and keep drinking all your water. So far it seems to be helping some. I tried Benefiber but wasn't

too impressed. I was taking a stool softener (not a laxative) and

that was working good. But it was a little expensive and I don't

care for the idea of popping another pill. With the flaxseed we

also get the benefit of Omega 3 nutrients, so it seems like a good

thing to get several benefits from one item.

So far, I have just been tossing it in my mouth and drinking it

down. A little rough, but the aftertaste is nutty and not too bad.

I'll try the cottage cheese thing, though cottage cheese does have a

tendency to " bind " people so it may be cross-purpose.

I'll try 's yogurt idea too!

I started taking taking the flaxseed capsules.... should I not? A

friend of mine (non WLS) said it helps with constipation. Any other

ideas would be appreciated.
