Yes, you're correct. The ones I refer to below that smell are canned. I've had frozen peas that were cooked in with chicken pot pie and chicken and dumplings before I went on SCD, and those were good, but I've never had fresh peas. Based on what you wrote below, I might try the fresh one day if they don't smell.
