Guest guest
Hi , It happened to me after surgery. Of course everyone will tell you about Nioxin and other things but I didn't use any of that. I just cut my hair short. I didn't dye it or use any harsh chemicals on it to put more stress on it. My hairdresser said it was normal after major surgery . A couple of months later it started to grow back. Now I have to do like I normally do when I have it cut and have her thin it out because I have hair that is too thick. Guest guest
Please help! I am now 4 1/2 months out and now my hair is coming out like crazy. Has anyone found and answer to this? Is there anything you can take that will either slow it down or help with it? How much will I loose? I brush my hair and I have to clean the brush off before I can finish or I need to clean the sink out and you should see what comes out in the shower>>....... Guest guest
Tracey, I'm only 3 weeks out and haven't had to deal with my hair falling out but I have a friend that has recommend a shampoo and conditioner called Nioxen. Some cancer patients use it and it really works. The day I had my surgery my roommate at the hospital also told me about it and how well it works. My friend bought some of it for me and gave it to me as a gift. I think she got it at a beauty shop where you need you beauty license in order to shop there, but maybe look around on line and see if you can find it. da6bearz wrote: Please help! Guest guest
, It will stop I am now 6 months and it just stopped. My hair is MUCH thinner, and I was the same way it seemed my shower took 10 minutes longer just to get the hair off of ME. I did not take anything I did get a few inches cut off my hair because I USED to have thick hair, thought some weight coming off would help, don't know that it did. I feel for you and understand right where you are coming from. Wish I could be of more help. Kristie ---- da6bearz wrote:

Guest guest
It will get better about 6 months or more out. Make sure you're getting in enough protein, if not you will lose more than you need too. Take care. Donna J.da6bearz wrote: Please help! Guest guest
You can spend lots of money on hair stuff, but for most part they cost more than they help. Time is what works, after you're about 6 months or more it will slow and then you'll start to see some regrowth happening it takes time. Make sure you are eating all your protein because if your not you will lose more. Now how about swim aerobics tonight? How about being a team member for "Relay of Life", still need 5 people? I got my bicycle and went for a ride last night with my son, it was great. Let me know. Take care. Donna"Hokoana, Barbara" wrote: Hey , You are not alone. Guest guest
Hi . The hair subject was brought up about a month ago, so you might want to go back and look in the archives. The question was last posted by Azin, I think. Anyway, I'll add my 2 cents worth here. I have had thinning hair for many years. It got worse after surgery. I tried everything everyone had suggested to no avail. I hate the Nioxin shampoo, and it doesn't work-for me. On a whim I picked up something from the Kaiser Pharmacy called Vitamins for Hair. It is by Nature's Blend. I've been using it for about five or six weeks now. It helps! I'm going to be buying another bottle when this one runs out. Good luck, Laurie __________________________________________________
Guest guest
The Nioxen products are available at many hair salons and beauty supply stores; anyone can buy them, you do not have to have a license. I have used them for awhile because my hair is thin on top (Genetics. I haven't had the WLS yet). Nioxen also sells a vitamin supplement, which is primarily Biotin. You can purchase Biotin for a lot less by itself where vitamins are sold. My hair stylist said to be prepared for hair loss after surgery, and a shorter hair cut during that phase. Oh well, I figure that the short, sparse hair won't look that bad if my body size is smaller by then...
