Dear Migrant Health

Colleagues,

I

am collecting information for a client whose health center will soon start to

conduct clinical outreach with farmworkers. They plan to send clinical

providers into the field with outreach workers several nights a week.

They will conduct certain basic clinical services and for anything that

goes above and beyond what can be done in the field, they will refer and

transport patients back to the health center.

Because

this organization is new to outreach, especially clinical outreach, they are

interested in seeing examples of protocols that other health centers are using

for conducting clinical outreach with farmworkers.

In

addition to gathering samples of clinical outreach protocols, I would like to

speak to representatives from several health centers that routinely conduct

clinical outreach—or who have conducted clinical outreach in the past but

no longer do so for whatever reason. I know that this is not a service

that all health centers can readily provide but for those that do or who have

in the past, I would like to learn more about your experiences, challenges, and

lessons learned to date in providing this type of outreach.

Please

feel free to write to me off-line or let me know how to reach you. I am happy

to give you a call to discuss what you are doing. Also, if you know of

someone I should contact at another organization, please feel free to pass on his/her

contact information.

Thank

you as always for your assistance and I look forward to hearing from you!

Kristie
