My son has severe brachy and my ortho doesn't seem to shaving enough out of the back. She always does out of the front forhead area for room, but only once out of 14 weeks did she shave from the back, I thought they were supposed to do the back to make growth go there. I feel like since hardly anything came off the back, its just held his head in the current shape. How can it grow back if they aren't shaving the back outSent via BlackBerry from T-MobileFrom: "yeelailau" Date: Tue, 21 Apr 2009 17:20:18 -0000<Plagiocephaly >Subject: Flat spot caused by the helmet that not existed before the treatment Hi, My son is 10 months old and has severe brachy. He has been in the helmet for about two months now. He got 1 cm growh at the back after 5 weeks. But last week we noticed he has a flat spot right by the pressure point on his right side. This flat spot was not there before the treatment. So it seems the helmet is too tight and this is caused by the pressure point where the prominent area was held. We asked our specialist about our concern. But he told us not to worry and he will extend the grinding to this side the next appointment to achieve a longer head at the end. And we asked whether we should make the helmet a bit more loose and he said it's not necessary. Just put it on as we usually do. My impression is that the flat spot area needs to be shaved out more so it will not get worse. But the specialist is not concerned about it and our next appointment is one week later. I'm just curious anyone has similar experience like this? Thanks, Elaine

Who are you using? Have you asked why they aren't shaving the back?
