Guest guest
Hi Amy, You can get at Kaiser, Bariatric Advantage Chewable Vitamins and the Calcium Citrate. You can also get them online at www.bariatriavantage.com and if you put the word kaiser in as the promotion code you don't get charged shipping. Or at Vitamin World you can get liquid calcium citrate also. Many have recommended the blueberry flavor. You need a high potency vitamin or a mega vitamin daily, 1200 to 1500 Mg of calcium citrate, 1000 mg of vitamin B-12 sub-lingual two times a week. Depending on your age you may or may not need iron. In your binder there should be a section that tells you about your daily requirements. Ramona
Guest guest
Hello! My name is Amy and I often look but don't really post. Since my surgery is May 1st I thought I should ask some questions. What type of chewable vitamins, calcium citrate have you all found that are acceptable? I bought the chewable Centrum tonight but it doesn't seem to look like enough of everything? Please help..... Thanks, Amy
Guest guest
Hi Amy, I'm , no surgery scheduled yet, but I have been looking at the local health food store here in Modesto and I found a chewable calcium citrate and a couple of chewable multi vits. I am not real sure of how much we are supposed to take but I know someone will. Did your doc or the nutritionist not tell you how much? There are a lot of questions but I know there are answers. Keep looking and let me know. Amy wrote: Hello! My name is Amy and I often look but don't really post. Since my surgery is May 1st I thought I should ask some questions. Guest guest
I was told to get the chewable childrens Flinstones w/iron. Not sure what you would take, I take a lot extra of vitamins because of absorbtion for me isn't great. I take Kirkland (Costco brand) calcium citrate, B-12 sublingal I get at Wal-Mart because that's where it is the cheapest and I have to take 3 a day every day do to my absorbtion problem. Also your Iron and you can get it any where. There's different kinds and Vitalady sells some that are gentle on you. Other people will have to comment on how many is normal and the kind for them. I have to deal with this different due to absorbtion problem. I take a lot of vitamins everyday, it's a must for me. Take care. Guest guest
I've been trying a bunch of different calcium citrate chewables lately to find one I like, and so far I have to say the best is the Bariatric Advantage. I'm going to be up at SSF in a week or so and I'll pick some up when I'm there - a woman brought them to our last Santa Clara support group and they were actually yummy! Guest guest
just my take/opinion When I first had my surgery the sublinguals gagged me completely. .. but after a month or less it became totally tolerable and I still take the same ones I started with and have no taste, no gag reflex now.... so, my suggestion is try them later that might not have worked presently or in the past... Guest guest
Are you sure you're not thinking of the B12 sublinguals? I hadn't heard of calcium in sublingual form. . .
