I have heard that this is slower to improve, but you are getting good improvement in general. 87% may not be down in the ideal range, but it's not that bad. Honestly, I'd given anything to get down that low. We'll be lucky to get down to your starting point. Also, 6 weeks is really not that long to be in a helmet. The amount of change just depends upon the amount of growth. 83 is really only 4% away and you've already gotten half way there. 4 mm is wonderful and the 87 percent will likely decrease - I would suggest giving it a little more time since you have seen improvement already.

land Cephalic index/ratio slow to improve

Our son has been in his Hanger band for 6 weeks on 3/4. His cranial vault has improved to 4mm (3%). But his Cephalic ratio is still 87% (down from 90.5%). It did not change in the last 2 weeks. Our orthotist said she would like it to be between 80-83%. This seems like so far away. We have another appt in 2 weeks, I hope it improves some by then. He looks great and we are happy with our results. Anyone else have a Cephalic index that was slow to increase? Thanks,Robin SW Ohio

Thanks. We are going back in 2 weeks for another check up. He had grown quite

a bit. His orthoist thinks we should go as long as possible before we start

doing wear just at night and we agreed. He tolerates it very well. He has only

been rolling for a few weeks and doesn't crawl yet, so he plays on his back alot

still. He will only sleep on his tummy now, too!! Took me a bit to feel

comfortable with that, but I think he sleeps better now. I am worried about

regression with him still being on his back playing alot.

Hello. Kind of off the specific topic but I have a 5 month old that will be outgrow his helmet in roughly 2 weeks (we hope) . He is unable to sit on his own and tummy time isnt so great with him and I to worry about regression. My sons head shape is almost perfect but his ears are still way out of line. My husband and I talked about a 2nd helmet and my husband dont really want to go with it but it is totally my decision. I too want this to be over but when the helmet comes off and he still lays on his back I worry about recession. Has this actually happened to anyone? I know repositioning will help but still I worry. Any stories I would love to hear your experiences and advice. Have a great day everyone.

sorryyy, posted in a wrong thread initially...

Amazing that you have got such good results in a month!

I was wondering whether you did see improvement with facial assymetry (if there) in addition to head shape.Zhyldyz

We did not have any facial asymmetry. His ears were only 2mm off. I think we

hit a huge growth spurt.
