So, here I am all ready for tonight's chat session and when I get to Yahoo, they say they've discontinued the java chat. <HRMPH!> That really bites....

Why is Chat not available in Yahoo! Groups?

Due to our ongoing efforts to enhance the user experience, Java-based chat is no longer available for Yahoo! Groups. We are focusing on improvements to this service using the latest Yahoo! Messenger chat technology, which the majority of our users prefer and is available today.

Yes Ron,

Who are the trying to fool? Can you imagine putting a yahoo group on you buddy list? That is ridiculous. The way mine is set up it lets me know when someone is online. I would hear doors opening and closing all day and night and not know when my family is trying to get in touch with me. I think we need to let them know we are not one of those that are in agreement with what they are saying. We need to tell them we want the Chat Room back. I am going to send them an email and see if they respond to it.

I'm with you Ramona! I don't even like using any of those chat programs (although I did set up MSN Messenger just so I could chat once in a while with a lady friend of mine). I'll send an email too. Not that I expect anything will change, but it can't hurt.

Ramona, just FYI you do not have to add everyone to your IM messenger to chat with them or enter a chat room.... and as the moderator, I would suggest what I have done, I set up an alternative account to list the ones that I have to be able to click on as a moderator of another group... just a thought... b Re: Chat room, 4/24/2006, 9:00 pm Yes Ron, Who are the trying to fool?
