Maddie's New Doctor

Today was Maddie's first appointment with Dr. Mahan at Children's

Hospital, Boston. What a difference from our previous doctor. She

was wonderful. I feel a lot better and more comfortable with her than

Maddie's previous doctor. Maddie used to scream when her casts were

put on, but she slept right through it today. Since her foot was not

fully corrected when she went into the Dennis Brown Bar, she will need

two more weeks of casting before having a tenotomy on her right foot

on Nov. 18th. Luckily her left foot appears to be flexible enough to

not need a tenotomy. She's lso scheduled an ultrasound to rule out

hip dysplasia. The other doctor didn't even mention that at all.

I want to thank you all for your help with figuring this all

out. Both Maddie and I are a lot happier and more comfortable. I'll

keep you posted.
